Wow, I've been busy with work lately, and it's taken a toll on this Blog, but now I'm studiously avoiding work with the excuse that I need an update here. So let's see how this works out for us...
So November came and went. Thanksgiving was fun, but I'm not sure it was remarkable. That sounds a little sad, but the truth is, I love getting together with my family, and even though we do it every year, it's still just as fun every time, so really saying it's not remarkable, it just another way of saying it was spectacular as usual.
We've decided to draw names again this year for Christmas. We tried it once before to semi-disastrous results, so I'm not sure how much better we are going to fare this time. In my own selfish way, I like the idea, since it means I will only have to spend time finding one gift instead of 7. And certainly, I don't really need anything, so I don't mind only getting one thing.
Codex Alera book 5 was extremely good, as expected. The chief problem always being that Jim Butcher can only write 2 novels per year, and it takes me less than a week to read each one.
My cousin Andy has a new Webcomic Johnny Cancer. There's only one up right now, but I thought it was hilarious (We both have a bizarrely dark sense of humor, so it's definitely not for everyone). Check it out at your own peril.
It's Always Sunny in Phillidelphia ended on a brilliant note with the Nightman, the Rock Opera. Dexter has been great as usual. Californication has been good. Chuck is good, maybe wanning a little. Boston Legal has it's moments, and is worth watching, but upon rewatching episodes from season 1 and 2, it is noticeably less spectacular.
I saw Zack and Miri on opening weekend. It was very good. I'm really surprised it didn't do better at the box office. I went to see Twilight with Christi at the Midnight premier showing. Not my cup of tea, but it was well done. I also saw the unpronounceable Synecdoche, New York with Andy last week. The movie is beyond brilliant(I seem to be using this word a lot in this post). To say it breaches the 4th wall, is not really a good enough description, as Kaufman creates new dimensions in which he can build more an more 4th walls to break. There is no way on earth this guy is sane. Let me post-face this review with saying that this movie is not for everyone.
